The company Swix has established itself in the world of Nordic Walking – the poles are made of a carbon-fibreglass composite and can be purchased at a fair price.
Swix' signature innovation, the Twist&Go tips, avoids the need to take off, install and store the pads. With a simple rotation, the pad can be used instead of the tip and vice versa. This spares users from having to store a (usually) dirty pad in something like a pocket or pouch.
In Nordic Walking, the poles’ straps and handles are very important. Swix uses straps licensed by Salomon which have a bridge between the thumb and the index finger. The Swix system is intuitive to use and therefore suitable for beginners. The handles on Swix poles are either made of either two components of plastic, polyurethane cork or dermatologically-friendly, natural cork.
The poles have a hard metal tip for hard ground and come with a standard, rounded asphalt pad. The shoe-like asphalt pads slide over the tips of Swix poles and can be purchsed separately as an accessory.
